Dysert

Marion Eugene Dysert was bom October 3, 1926, in Oakwood Township, on June 14, 1945, he married Luella Faye Miller bom August 2, 1927. Faye and Marion both graduated from Oakland City High School, Oakland City, Indiana.

Marion farmed in the Oakwood area for 42 years of the 48 years the Dysert family has lived here. He served as Oakwood Township Supervisor for 30 years, was a Vermilion County Board member for 20 years, Chairman Vermilion County Board, Chairman of the County Board of Review, President Muncie Consolidated School Board, former trustee of the Oakwood Methodist Church, and has been a member of the church for 48 years. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II in the 1st Cavalry Division,
Pacific Theatre. He is also a member of the Catlin Masonic Lodge, Danville Consistory, Elks Club #332, Vermilion County Farm Bureau, and Vermilion County Museum.

Marion and Faye have two children: Teny Gene, bom February 26, 1949, and Alan Ray, born June 12,1951. Both are graduates of Oakwood High School and the University of Illinois. Terry married Mindy Stein and they have a son, Ethan MacKenzie, bom January 3, 1995. Terry is a nuclear engineer and owner of Maple Associates Consulting Company. Alan married Mary Elizabeth Dobbles and they have two sons, Cody Dylan, bom June 19, 1986, and Cooper Reese, born May 31, 1990. Alan acted in “All My Children” for six years as Sean Cudahy, and is a Screen Actors Guild Instructor, Songwriter (Notown Publishing Co.)
